Caesar Assassinated!
Havoc in Rome and Egypt
The Roman Senators were angry with Caesar as well. Brutus and other senators assassinated
Caesar by stabbing him repeatedly with their daggers. Caesar's assassins wanted
to restore the traditional roman republic in which the Senate was the main
authority. However, they didn't have a concrete plan to execute it.
Caesar's death swept Rome with fear and havoc.

Cleopatra lost her love and her only way to power but she took a strategic, cruel decision to poison her brother, because she knew he couldn't be trusted. This act may be debatable. There was a great interest in Egypt because of its rich soil. It was an asset for whoever conquered it.
In Rome, Caesar's will was read; Cleopatra and her son were not mentioned in it. A second triumvirate was formed, it involved Octavian, Caesar's heir, Marcus Antonius (Mark Antony), and Marcus Lepidus.
