Cleopatra used Caesar to gain an upper
hand. Cleopatra's sister, Arsinoe, declared war against Caesar. Caesar defeated everybody.
Ptolemy-XIII drowned attempting to escape. This time the people of
Alexandria treated Caesar with respect and honor. Cleopatra was
re-crowned as Egypt's queen to rule with her youngest brother Ptolemy-XIV who was 11 yrs-old. Caesar currently had sole power of Rome.

Cleopatra then gave birth to Caesarion, whom she claimed was Caesar's heir. Caesar presented honors to her in Rome by putting her statue in a temple of Roman Goddess, Venus-Genetrix. The Romans showed their displeasure, as they frowned upon the Egyptian civilization. Romans feared that Caesar planned ascending the throne as the King of Rome and thus Cleopatra, the queen.
